Diospyros rhodocalyx Kurz plant is commonly known as Ebony, which belongs to the Ebenaceae family. Ebony is frequently utilized for sexual enhancement in Thailand. Studies are based on anti-cancer, antioxidant and neuroprotective pharmacological activities.

Its fruit bark is burned and soaked in water and used as a cure for leucorrhoea and diuretic. The roots are used to treat beriberi, urinary tract infections, discomfort, weariness, and appetite loss. It’s also used to relieve overheating. The bark of the tree is blended with the bark of the cauliflower, pig head, Khoi seeds, and dried pepper fruit and drink as a tonic.

The active ingredients  are: Betulin, Betulinic acid, B-sitosterol, Lupenone, Lupeol, Stigmast-4-en-3-one, Stigmast4-en-3-one 1 –O-ethyl-BD-glucopyrahoside, Stigmast-4-. en-3-one 1-O-ethyl-BD-glucoside, Stigmasterol, Taraxerol, Taraxerol acetate, and Taraxerone.
