Kaempferia parviflora or Black Ginger is one of most popular herbs in Thailand as it has traditionally been used in folk medicine and food for more than 100 years. Black ginger has been linked to improved energy and lower fatigue. An enzyme found in this superfood (AMPK) improves glucose metabolism. Antioxidants – Like its relatives, ginger and turmeric, black ginger contains powerful antioxidants that help protect cells from free radical oxidative damage as well as male impotence and erectile dysfunction.

Originally found in Thailand’s north and northeast, Kaempferia parviflora (KP) or Krachaidam is a Zingiberaceae member. Traditional folk medicine uses the rhizomes of KP, also known as black ginger, to treat inflammation, ulcers, gout, colic, abscesses and osteoarthritis, among other conditions.

KP has been the subject of a number of pharmacological studies, which have shown it to be beneficial for a variety of diseases. Methoxyflavones have a variety of activities, including regulating cellular metabolism, anticancer, vascular relaxation, cardioprotection, sexual enhancement, neuroprotection, antiallergy, anti-inflammatory, antioxidative, antiosteoarthritis and transdermal permeable.
